Timothy Green

“I grew up in Rochester, NY, before moving to Los Angeles a few years ago to take a job as editor of the poetry journal RATTLE. Writing was always a fun hobby, but I never took it seriously—I wanted to be a molecular biologist. Cheesy as it sounds, I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and it changed my life with a line I’ll have to paraphrase: ‘All over the world scientists are working feverishly to extend life, but few ever stop to ask why.’ I’d take two years of poetry over ten of science … so why not keep writing?”
