Jessie Calliste is an aspiring writer currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and Summa Cum Laude with double majors in sociology and political science. Currently, Jessie is completing her graduate degree at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology and is a psychotherapist-in-training at the prestigious Anxiety and Stress Management Institute, where she is specializing in DBT therapy.

In her spare time, she is completing her first book, a narrative nonfiction coming of age story, set against the backdrop of revolutionary turbulence, and enriched with the zesty flavor of the Caribbean. The story, “Middle Beginnings,” is an excerpt from chapter one of her manuscript. She is fascinated with the complexities of human motivations and machinations, and the intricate mapping of life stories that are woven in the process.

Jessie welcomes any feedback you would like to provide. You may email her at jcalliste@comcast.net.
