Patrick Loafman has been a seasonal wildlife biologist since 1988. He has two chapbooks of poetry and is currently trying to get his first novel published. These poems are from a manuscript of Blue Cat Poems that was a semi-finalist in the 2006 Floating Bridge Chapbook competition.

In answer to our question of why he writes, Patrick responded: “I keep writing because it’s enjoyable and mysterious, like the blue cat who’s always lurking around, knocking on windows, keeping me up at night, and doing things that I don’t expect of him. Yes, the blue cat thinks he’s hilarious.”
