Pat Daneman has published poetry in the Spoon River Poetry Review, Poem, Midwest Quarterly, The Pedestal.com Magazine, I-70 Review, and other small magazines. She has a master’s degree in creative writing from Binghamton University and works as a creative director in Kansas City.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Pat responded:

“Writing poetry helps me make sense of my impressions and experiences. It’s like taking a box full of old photos and mementos and putting them in a scrapbook to tell a story. I love the mysterious way that poems start and the work of crafting them until they feel solid and lasting. I’ve been reading poetry since I learned to read; writing was a natural next step.”
