Marilyn Krug is a native Oregonian. She lives in West Salem with a backyard full of squirrels, chipmunks, and hundreds of birds. Her passion for drawing and painting has been with her from earliest memories. “My home is surrounded by hillsides graced by old White Oak and fir trees, and close to the ocean. I am inspired by nature and architectural form, which are reflected in representational as well as abstract works. Many of you know my art, but are not familiar with my landscapes in oil. The medium I work in seems to dictate a style to me, for example, watercolors become figures or landscapes, acrylics and mixed media are abstract, and oils lend themselves to landscapes, particularly those of beautiful Oregon.” Click here for a preview of Krug’s current exhibit.

She joined Artists in Action in 2001, and served on the Board of Directors in 2002 as its treasurer, in 2003 she served on the Board of Directors as its Vice President, and in 2004 was elected President and Chairman of the Board. She continues to serve on the Board of Directors.Marilyn enjoys teaching painting through Salem Art Association and is adjunct art teacher through Chemeketa Community College. When not painting, Marilyn enjoys bird watching, travel, photography, and literature.
