Susan Slaviero is a freelance writer and editor living in the Midwest. Her poems have been published in Fourteen Hills, Arsenic Lobster, Wicked Alice, Umbrella, and elsewhere. Susan’s chapbook, Apocrypha, is forthcoming from dancing girl press in January 2009. She is co-creator and co-editor of the online lit journal, blossombones. In answer to our question of why she writes, Susan responded:

"I write (and keep writing) because I see language as a means to shape our reality. By writing, we form relationships with others and with our environment. Language takes the abstract and makes it concrete. When I am immersed in the act of writing, I feel grounded, alive, and utterly present within that moment."
