Bonnie McClellan is a poet born and raised in northeastern Texas. She has been living in Italy since 2006 and enjoys trying to translate what she observes in a country almost suffocated by its own history into the broad, open cadences of English. If any place is odder and more unexpected than Texas it’s provincial Italy. Her work can be found in CCWriter, Duck Soup, Versitude, Bolts of Silk, and Dot Tom Cafe. Her website is http://bonniemcclellan.wordpress.com.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Bonnie responded:

“I keep writing because it’s the only way I know how to condense some feeling of specificity from the complexity and velocity of contemporary life. I hope that my poetry can serve as a small anchor in the sea of both my experience and the experience of others.”
