David Thacker is currently studying poetry as an MFA candidate at the University of Idaho. Poems of his are forthcoming in the American Poetry Journal. He lives in Moscow, Idaho, with his wife and daughters.

In answer to our question of why he writes, David responded:

"The imagination’s guarantee of stumbling into new understanding of the human experience is what keeps me writing. An imagination is sort of like our own private Virgil-Beatrice circling around the geography of the filling page. Who wouldn’t follow? Who wouldn’t prod for more?"
