Danielle Hanson received her MFA from Arizona State University and now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work has appeared in over 30 journals and anthologies, including Asheville Poetry Review, Blackbird, Clackamas Literary Review, The Cortland Review, Iodine, Lake Effect, Poet Lore, and Rosebud. She has edited Hayden’s Ferry Review, been on staff at The Meacham Writers’ Conference and received the Fulton County Arts Council Grant for a residency at the Hambidge Center.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Danielle responded:

"What brings me back to the blank page is an idea, an image or a phrase that I want to follow and to explore further, to see where we can go. The more strange the image, the more I like to see if it can be reconciled with reality."
