Janis Hubschman’s short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Exquisite Corpse, Foundling Review, Front Porch Journal, Literary Mama, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Saint Ann’s Review, and Storyglossia. Her work has received honorable mention from Glimmer Train, has been selected as a finalist in the New Letters Alexander Patterson Cappon Prize for Fiction, and was chosen as a notable story by the Million Writers Award. She teaches at Montclair State University.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Janis responded:

“I love stories, hearing them, reading them, and especially telling them. I love to ask, ‘And then what happened?’ I’m never happier than when I’m following the trail of a story.
