Tom Fitzpatrick

Hmm. What do I put here.

I was born and raised in Kansas City - straddled the border between Missouri and Kansas all my life but if I had to choose I am a Kansan. Attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence and graduated in 1979. Didn't want to get a real job, so I went to the University of Missouri Kansas City for a master's degree. Without knowing it I attained a real job which I worked at the next 17 years in the travel industry training computer software for reservation agents. It was a great job because I traveled the world - North America, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Eventually quit my job to move to San Diego and start a new life. After about five years of struggling I now work for a publishing company for scientific journals. What can I say - it keeps me in chocolate chip cookies. I live in San Diego, California with my partner Bob and our two cats - Julian and Carlotta.

I write because I am always thinking of stories. I see an open door and a story comes to my mind. So I have a choice, I can either keep them in my memory or write them down. Most of the time I store them in my memory but sometimes I think this is too good, so I put pen to paper (I would say fingers to keyboard - but it doesn't have the same ring to it) and write it all down. Now, don't get me wrong, I would love to publish my stories but when I am writing what I really enjoy is working it all out.
