Amanda Owens

I was born and raised in the Southwest—all over Arizona and New Mexico—and cactuses and sand dunes will always feel like home to me. Currently, I am an editor for Item magazine in Scottsdale and a free-lance writer.

I have been writing stories since I was five years old—and coherent ones since I was seven. The reason I keep writing is because the worlds I invent are always so much more real to me than the one I live in. I don’t feel like I’m really living unless I’m writing.
