Cornelia Wells

I was born in Utah, currently live in Arizona, but have spent most of my life considering coastlines—Atlantic, Gulf, Tasman, and Pacific—courting the ocean, testing my distance from shore in South Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, New South Wales, California, Washington State. My accent reveals I spent the bulk of my childhood or “formative” years (though we are ever changing) in Texas and South Carolina. I teach college English to keep the wolf from my door and to help others discover and articulate their own lives. I myself write to live meaningfully, to pay closer attention to my world and myself in it through the words I find to momentarily identify both of us, often discovering new meanings in the whimsical upshot of language play.
