Hidden Identity | Gravity

Reiko Imoto started photography in Kobe, Japan in 1993. She moved to London, England in 1995 and the United States in 1999 to study and research art and photography before she came over to Brussels, Belgium in 2004. She earned an M.F.A. in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, USA. Her solo and group exhibits have been held in Japan, England, USA, Poland, Slovakia Russia, China and Belgium with more future exhibitions worldwide. Her works have been selected in many publications, and she won many prizes including the best portfolio award at “International Portfolio Review” in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2004.

She has a unique eye and her works look mysterious and surreal, yet the subject matter that she captures is from her everyday life. Inspired by her own inner reality, subconscious world, dreams, story tales, music, poetry, and every single ordinary thing she sees that give her many perspectives. Her photographs reveal questions about seeing “realities” rather than answers.

Her website is www.reikoimoto.com.
