Scott T. Starbuck has recently combined his interest in fishing with clay art, some of which is available at Columbia River Gallery in Troutdale, Oregon. Some of his poems are available online at High Country News, The Bathyspheric Review, The 2River View, and the Nature Writing section at The Raven Chronicles Web site. In January 2004 he was a Writer-in-residence at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology on Cascade Head near Lincoln City, Oregon.

In answer to our question of why he writes, Scott responded: “Honest joy is the reason I write poems. Even if I were the only human left alive on a post-global warming Earth, I would still surf the Pacific and carve my poems with sticks into the mud.”
