Bruce Holland Rogers teaches fiction writing in the Whidbey Writers Workshop low-residency MFA program in the Puget Sound. When he’s not on the island to work with students face-to-face, he lives in London, England. His stories have been translated into over twenty languages. His most recent collection, The Keyhole Opera, won the 2006 World Fantasy Award.

In answer to our question of why he writes, Bruce responded:

“I keep writing because no one else can write my stories when I’m gone, and the clock is ticking. One of my writer friends, a trim non-smoker my age, recently died suddenly of a heart attack. Time’s a-wasting!”
