Emily Tallman is a writer of poetry and sometimes fiction. She has just completed her MFA degree in Poetry at California State University, Fresno. She is currently living in Fresno with her husband Ryan, and spends her free time collecting rejection letters from all of her favorite literary journals.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Emily responded:

“I keep writing because I am obsessed, I want to keep trying to figure things out. Writing is how I deal with anything that sticks in my mind that I can’t understand or can’t forget about. For me, poems are like math equations with no solution, which I am continually trying to solve.”
