Jacqueline Powers’ work has been published in canwehaveourballback, [plug].poetry, Delirium Journal, kaleidowhirl, Poesia, Chronogram, California Quarterly, Blood Orange Review, The Dalhousie Review, Stone Table Review, and Storyglossia, among others. Her play, Swimming Upstream, was produced in Ithaca, New York.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Jacqueline responded:

She writes because she can’t stop. Because she loves the sound of words and the way they look on the page. She loves the sensuous feeling of being enveloped in words and sounds and ideas as they form themselves into a poem, first in her head and then on paper. And if she could, she would rid the world of pompous and self-important writers with a propensity for difficult and inaccessible poetry.
