Jeremy Griffin is a candidate for a master’s degree in Creative Writing at Virginia Tech University. His work has appeared in Blackbird, Hot Metal Bridge, and Popmatters and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

In answer to our question of why he writes, Jeremy responded:

“What keeps me moving forward is the hope that one day I might publish a book and the cute redhead at the Barnes and Noble near my apartment might come across my name in the stacks one day and go, 'Oh wow, now I wish I hadn’t blown him off when he asked me to the Gwar concert,' and I’ll be all like, 'Haha, too late,' although I would probably still go out with her if she asked me, except that wouldn’t happen because she’s got this new boyfriend who works at one of these car rental places nearby, and he wears a tie and really nice shoes, and he sometimes brings her sushi on her smoke breaks, which is kind of sweet I guess.”
