Originally from South Carolina, Caroline Klocksiem lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she teaches English and co-edits poetry for the online journal 42opus. Most recent or forthcoming publications include Drunken Boat, PANK, Front Porch, and Shampoo.

In answer to our question of why she writes, Caroline responded:

“There’s never just one reason, and there are probably tons I don’t know about yet. I do know that I write out of a combination of the sheer joy of playing with words and a desire to discover what they’re capable of. Plus, a desire to try on the voice of others, and to offer or create a voice to those or that which have none, or whose voices have gone unheard.”
