Diane Seuss

boy god wearing nouveau Fauntleroy knee pants

let me indulge your love
for my spinning prayer
wheel, its whizzing daisy
chain. i like a boy with a huge
Victorian dollhouse. bend me
into mother wearing feather shoes
or cross-dress me into father
in leather or baby Violet
seated on a sugar cube.
i’ve sewed the goat into kid
gloves for you. there. so
you won’t leave fingerprints.
your favorite dog with his glass
eyes awaits you in the door
frame. i’ve pressed the red
button that makes fire
and polished the grand piano
until the cherry wood lid
is your mirror. see? you
exist. your face framed
by lovelocks and lace.
