Mitchell Untch

I am an emerging writer and have been published in the Aurorean, Beloit Poetry Journal, Confrontation, Jabberwock Review, James Dickey Review, Los Angeles Review, Nimrod, Out of Our, Third Wednesday, Two Hawks Quarterly, White Pelican Review, and Wisconsin Review.

My work has been awarded an honorable mention by the New Millennium Writings Awards, has been published as a broadside by The Unrorean, and has been anthologized by the Monadnock Writers’ Group. I was recently chosen as one of six ALOUD Newer Poets. I am a 2010 alumnus of the Squaw Valley Writer’s Workshop and the Gettysburg Writers Conference. I currently study with Carol Frost and Laurel Ann Bogan. I may be reached at Jaenote@roadrunner.com for readings or for further information.

In answer to our question of why he writes, Mitchell responded:

“I write purely to uncover ‘the knowledge of self’ and of, in general, ‘humanity,’ what drives us, what fills our emotional and physical bodies and how that in turn relates to things we see around us everyday. I also find the journey of writing a never-ending one, full of thrills, ‘the undiscovered country,’ that which awaits all of us writers who have the nerve to peel ourselves open and go to that unexpected, scary and always beautiful place—the unknown.”
